Captain America: Civil War will introduce the most popular character in Marvel Comics history with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The studio has previously announced this Peter Parker / Spider-Man will not go through another origin story. So how will the film introduce your friendly neighborhood wall crawler into the MCU?

As an urban legend!

According to sources at Heroic Hollywood, the latest rumor is that Peter Parker has been active as Spider-Man for a little over a year during the events of Captain America: Civil War and by the time the standalone Spider-Man film comes out in 2017, Peter would have been Spider-Man for two years.

What do you think?

Directed by Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6, 2016.
