Often Compared To Batman, Moon Knight is Marvel’s Protector of All Who Travel By Night
Since his first appearance in Werewolf By Night #32 way back in 1975, Moon Knight has had a small but passionate fan base among comic book fans. Sometimes referred to as Marvel’s Batman because his alter ego, Marc Spector, is a very wealthy playboy who uses his wealth to fund the fancy gadgets he uses in his vigilante activities. However, his four personas, mental instability and supernatural origin as the avatar of the Egyptian God, Khonshu.
He’s always been a favorite of mine, and his 1980s series was one of the first comic titles I collected the full run of. This video, from Variant Comics Youtube channel, covers a lot of ground in under 10 minutes and is a great backgrounder on the character.
There’s a lot of chatter about Moon Knight eventually showing up in Marvel’s Netflix story arch. While this hasn’t been confirmed, it would be exceptionally sweet!
